The Harvest Moon

... is the full moon nearest to the autumn equinox. This is most often in September, but about one year in three it's in October.

The next full moon after the Harvest Moon is called the Hunter's Moon.

To Native Americans, the September full moon is the Corn Moon, for the same reason as it's the Harvest Moon: because they harvest their corn around the same time.
